4th Place Finish, New Low Team 18-Hole Score, Personal Bests The Topper golfers finished the regular season today at the 2024 Ray Toland PORTA Invitational at Shambolee Golf Course in Petersburg. Eleven teams battled windy conditions with the Toppers coming away with a 4th place finish and another new season low team 18-hole score of 368. Great job, guys! Aaron Kuznik’s 88 was the low score for the team and earned him a medal for his 9th place finish overall. Clay Leonard had the second lowest score for the Hilltoppers with a personal best 18-hole score of 92. Splits of 47 and 45 were also season firsts for Clay to shoot under 50 for 9-holes. Congratulations Clay! Franklin Wade and Carter Clark both shot 94 to round out the top four team scores. Both players continue to shoot in the 40’s for 9-holes even when they feel they are struggling. This is a great sign for the scores both of these players are capable of achieving as they continue to improve. Tyler Lowe and Deegan Tschantz shot 102 and 133 for the team. Tyler’s score was also a personal best 18-hole score beating his previous best by 10 strokes. Had it not been for a rough first hole, he would have broken 100. Tyler’s round also included a 48 for his first 9-hole score under 50. Congratulations, Tyler! The Toppers will play in the Regional tournament next Wednesday at Country Hills golf course in Greenview. 13 teams and 76 players will compete for a chance to move on to the Sectional Tournament which will be held the following week at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy. Wishing you the best of luck Toppers! Your coaches are very proud of you!!

Three Toppers in the Top Five; Season Low 9-Hole Score; Personal Bests
The Toppers hosted Illini Central and Midwest Central at North Greens Golf Course this afternoon. Three Toppers placed in the top 5 and the team posted a season low 9-hole score of 183, but unfortunately, Midwest Central came in with a 182 to win the triangular meet by one stroke. Illini Central finished with a score of 188.
Zach Highland of MWC took medalist honors with a 37, but the Topper golfers brought their A games today as Aaron Kuznik, Carter Clark, and Franklin Wade all placed in the top 5 with season and personal best scores.
After achieving a personal goal of shooting in the 70’s for 18 holes on Monday, Aaron followed up by achieving another personal goal of breaking into the 30’s for 9 holes by shooting an outstanding score of 39 and 2nd place finish. Great score, Aaron!
Having his sights on scoring below 45, Carter did just that in stellar fashion by starting with a birdie on the first hole and finishing with an all-time personal best score of 41, and a 3rd place finish overall. Congratulations Carter!
No one works harder at his game on a daily basis than Franklin, and today he was rewarded by shooting his 9 hole season best score of 44, and finishing 5th overall. Great job, Franklin.
Kai Selinger and Tyler Lowe both shot 59, tying for the fourth team score needed for our season low score of 183. Way to go, guys. Deegan Tschantz shot a 61 which included several drives nearing a distance of 280 yards. Good job, Deegan.
The Topper golfers will head to Country Hills GC in Greenview on Tuesday for a quadrangular match, and then finish the regular season with an 18-hole tournament on Saturday at Shambolee Golf Course in Petersburg.
This team is more and more exciting to watch as they have continued to improve throughout the season. Looking for good things to happen over the next two weeks.

The increased volume of students needing picked up at the end of the day has created some bottlenecks on intersections in the front of our building, causing issues for the busses to make their turns.
