5th grade band students working hard to improve their musicianship.

In 6th grade ELA, the students have been researching African Americans who have impacted our history. Biography boxes and paper dolls were created.

Blocks is a favorite area during center time in Pre-K. Check out the problem solving and teamwork by these little builders!




This week Pre-K wrapped up a “Kindness” theme. We invited other classrooms to take part in our Kindness Challenge, and our students prepared treats for classrooms who completed our acts of kindness checklist!




Pre-K students sequenced the main points of the story of The Three Little Pigs, and retold the story through puppets!



Choir students got to see a performance at the UIS Performing Arts Center called “Abraham Lincoln In Song.”



5A music class is learning about the start of rock n roll and working on their listening sheets while listening to a song called Rock Around The Clock.




Judge Wright stopped by today to read a book about Abe Lincoln to grades 4th - 1st. He also answered several of their questions about the judicial system/court.

We learned some great things about George Washington last week. Can you guess by the picture who the KB Kids are going to learn about this week?


Meet Joseph the Hamster! He lives in our library. We had to clean his aquarium before the weekend.



On February 5, 1B music class learned what a whole rest is, how to count it in music and how to draw a whole rest.


On February 4, KB music class was playing egg shakers and rhythm sticks while singing Hot Cross Buns.


A fun day out of the classroom! These kids are the best!!




3B went on an African Safari today! Each animal had an area or perimeter challenge to solve. When we finished the math the animals had a QR code to scan and learn fun facts!

MPGS 3rd through 8th grade students learned to "tell a tale or two" about Abraham Lincoln from his childhood friend, Austin Gollaher today!



First graders in 1A just finished a unit on fossils. We celebrated by excavating our "chocolate chip fossils" from our cookies carefully. We used patience and our tools to finish the job. We even got to eat the final product!
