Mt. Pulaski CUSD Community:
This is a critical notification to bring our school community up to speed regarding school safety issues in Macon County. There were reports of social media pictures on Snapchat involving threats to schools in Macon County. The Decatur Police Department has made two arrests related to the incident, per their press release below. The ages of the students involved were 11 and 14 years of age!
The police department acted immediately due to the fast reporting of the incident. I strongly recommend that you and your students ALWAYS report suspicious activity of any kind, even online activity. We use the phrase "if you see something, say something", as safety is always at the forefront of our thoughts.
Again, we have an everyday presence in our school between our Mount Pulaski Police Department and the Logan County Police Department to contiuously improve the quality of our relationships between students and staff. This is due to our commitment and philosophy of safety, which is always our number one priority!
Thank you for your attention to detail and commitment to Mount Pulaski Schools.
It's always a better day on the Hilltop!
Respectfully,
Jason Spang, Superintendent of Schools

If you're in MP enjoying the Fall Festival, stop by the tent and get a ribeye sandwich from the Hilltop Club! The proceeds support their scholarship fund for local seniors.
